M6012W (001) 10OZ Left Hand Twill WWII MODEL JACKET

M6012W WWII MODEL JACKET is BIG JOHN’s reconstruction of a store-brand vintage jacket that carries the rational design and rugged beauty born under 1940s wartime material restrictions. Built on the simplified “WWII model” concept, it is refined with modern craftsmanship and techniques to be faithful, wearable, and practical today.

Using the series-standard 10oz light-ounce denim, the jacket is designed around a simple question: “What if BIG JOHN had made a jacket in the 1940s?” The left-hand twill structure brings the characteristic softness and natural twisting associated with left-twill denim, while long-term wear reveals strong aging and character.

Fabric details

- 10oz WWII selvedge denim (un-finished base / garment finished)
- Yarn count: 7/- × 10/-
- Cotton 100% (includes 20% recycled cotton)
- Weave: Left-hand twill
- Sanforized / skewed / no singeing
- One wash and sun-dried finish

20% recycled cotton is used, respun from fallen cotton, off-spec yarn, and deadstock yarn generated during spinning. This reproduces natural hairiness from short fibers, visible nep, a dry hand feel, and a rugged uneven surface. The denim is woven at low tension on traditional shuttle looms, balancing a vintage-like expression with an airy softness. While it has the visual presence of heavier denim, it remains comfortable and lightweight at 10oz.

Detail specification

- Classic work jacket design with front pleats
- One-side selvedge construction reflecting wartime material efficiency
- Steel one-star donut button
- One wash and sun-dried finish for a natural texture
- Practical design with chest pockets on both sides
- Cotton thread sewing for vintage-like aging over time
- Set-up compatible: can be worn with M1012W WWII Model Jeans in the same fabric

Rugged yet refined in expression, and light in wear. The minimal design avoids excessive decoration and fits naturally into both workwear styling and everyday use. It is a piece where 1940s workwear philosophy meets BIG JOHN’s roots.

Important notes

- Although the product has been one-washed and sun-dried, additional shrinkage of a few centimeters may still occur.
- Please check the care label before washing or ironing.
- Avoid tumble drying and chlorine bleach.
- Due to the nature of indigo dye, color transfer may occur; use caution when wearing with light-colored items.

Country of origin

- Made in Japan
