Eternal was established by the Maeno Corporation in 1997. They are made using traditional methods in Kurashiki, Okayama but with a contemporary flair. The denim is dyed traditionally, patiently and intently but the cuts themselves are often more modern while maintaining a repro style. This 14.5oz one-wash denim is a very slubby fabric, dipped up to thirty times, then the jeans are hung by their back belt loop to dry in the sun. Their crinkly finish relaxes and yields high-contrast tate-ochi, or vertical fading. The break-in period rivals countless other denims while retaining all of it’s beauty, giving the jeans their namesake.
