"Kanoko" means "fawn" in Japanese. Deer have long appeared in Japanese poetry as a seasonal symbol of summer, while their graceful and noble presence has traditionally been revered as that of sacred messengers of the gods.
Fabric
This 15oz brown denim is vat dyed to develop a natural tonal fade over time. Rather than showing the dramatic contrast typically associated with indigo denim, the brown gradually fades within the same color family while developing subtle creases and wear patterns through regular use.
The yarn is made from 100% Texas cotton with pronounced natural irregularity. The fabric is woven to emphasize both its slub and nep character, creating a dry, textured surface with plenty of depth.
