Add a bit of danger to your summer with these killer jeans from Studio d'Artisan. We wanted to work with them on some black denim for a long time but they had nothing in the archive that fit us.
We wanted something very textured
yet sleek and all of the sudden we were looking at images of black snakes on our phones: Studio d'Artisan told us they would create a Black Mamba fabric for us
a denim full of character like the scales of the famously venomous snake that would also transform over time
like a snake that is shedding its skin. They went back to the drawing board and made a black fabric on the legendary G3 power look. At 14oz
this is a versatile denim
very agile with plenty of room for all kinds of activities: ready to strike at any given moment.
It's dyed with sulphur and sumi which will give this fabric a lovely sheen when worn it. But it is also rope dyed in a way that allows for quick fades. The neps and the slub will become more apparent with wear too.
Trust us
this is the coolest black denim that we have ever handled and it's breathable enough to take some serious heat
this snake is native to Sub-Saharan Africa after all.
Which brings us to the details: blacked out hardware and pocket lining
the darti tab at the back pocket
the jeans is life tab in the waistband
our denimio collab lab on the coin pocket.
The standout highlights are the special edition is the python leather patch and the chain stitched arcs. The leather patch is embossed to mirror snake skin and adds to the theme that you will experience some great patina on this one.
And
lastly
may we direct your attention to the chainstiched arcs? The texture on the arcs is great but Studio d'Artisan went the extra mile for us and tip dyed the thread in sulfur for us to mimic the light reflection on snake skin. The result is outstanding.
This limited edition of just 99 pairs
we have 99 problems but a snake ain't one
comes in SDA's legendary relaxed tapered cut.
