People have asked Tanuki repeatedly to make a kakishibu denim and it took them quite some time to get it right. This fabric weighs 14.5oz and is made of short stable cotton from Australia and the USA. It is a very slubby and textured denim. The true highlight is the weft dyed in kakishibu. Most kakishibu dyes looks a bit muted but Tanuki created something with a bit of a pop and as you can see, their kakishibu has a brighter shade than most other makers, think of brick stones sparkling in the sun. As always with kakishibu, this fabric will develop with exposure to sunlight and you can expect a beautiful patina over time.
