We’re very sorry, but we have no choice but to do this...

Levi’s has contacted us alleging that certain products we sell violate their intellectual property in some countries. Specifically, Levi’s alleges that certain arcuates and pocket tabs present in the products we sell, violate their IP rights in the US and Europe. Although we don’t concede that these designs are in fact infringing on their IP, we have agreed with them that we would remove the allegedly infringing designs prior to shipping these products to countries in those regions. This situation is not unique to Denimio and will be happening to all retailers of these products--Levi’s has already told us they are going (or will go) after everyone.

 

What this means to you.

If you see a pop-up with a warning similar to the one below when you try to add a product to the cart, it means that we will have to remove the arcuates and/or the pocket tab by hand prior to shipping that product to you and you will receive them without that design. We will try our best to remove the arcuates or tabs without leaving any noticeable marks, but some minimally visible traces may remain, which should not affect the overall product.

 

Can I return or exchange those products?

Unfortunately, no. The alterations to these products are the equivalent of hemming, in that the products will have been changed from their original condition, so we are unable to accept returns or exchanges even if we gave you size advice on them and they didn’t fit.

 

What can you do to help stop this situation?

Levi’s has engaged in this type of threatening behavior before with our Japanese denim suppliers, who have in the past been open to making modifications to their products in order to not butt heads with Levi’s. However, these Japanese companies need encouragement and support from their fans to let them know that small changes to arcuates or tabs won’t affect the love for their brands.
