A premium denim jacket made from 100% SUVIN GOLD, a rare extra-long staple cotton grown in India. This special version of BIG JOHN's ISHIKAWADAI Denim combines exceptional raw material with vintage Japanese spinning and weaving techniques.

Fabric

The yarn is slowly spun on a vintage Ishikawadai ring spinning machine manufactured in 1953. This low-speed process helps preserve the natural softness and subtle luster of SUVIN GOLD while creating gentle irregularity, volume, and character that cannot be easily reproduced with modern high-speed spinning.

SUVIN GOLD cotton from the first and second harvests is blended with SUVIN GOLD waste cotton, combining the smooth hand and refined luster of extra-long staple cotton with the natural hairiness and rugged texture expected from denim.

The yarn is rope dyed with pure indigo and woven slowly on vintage shuttle looms into 14oz selvedge denim. The natural tone of the weft adds a subtle brown cast, giving the fabric a deep, vintage-like appearance.

Finish / Aging

The denim is left unsanforized and unskewed, allowing natural shrinkage, twisting, surface hairiness, creasing, and fading to develop through wear and washing. Over time, the indigo gradually changes in tone and creates a unique fade pattern shaped by the wearer.

This jacket comes RINSE / ONE WASH, reducing the initial stiffness and making the fabric easier to wear from the first day while retaining the natural character of the denim.

Design / Fit

Finished in a regular silhouette, the jacket balances the refined feel of SUVIN GOLD with the rugged character of traditional Japanese selvedge denim.
