Nakatsugawa, blessed with abundant mountain resources, has a long history of harvesting wild chestnuts, which are used in various dishes and sweets. Amidst the many chestnut-related shops in Nakatsugawa, Matsumidou stands out for its traditional methods, meticulously crafting chestnut confections using local chestnuts and delivering them nationwide.

Matsumidou's 'Kuri Kinton Yōkan' is a unique chestnut confection that combines smooth and moist 'Kuri Kinton'—a chestnut sweet made with great care from fresh chestnuts—with a subtly sweet Yōkan layer. It represents the essence of chestnuts from Nakatsugawa, known for their smooth texture and delightful flavors.
