15oz Black-on-Blue Selvedge Denim
This original 15oz selvedge denim features a unique black-over-indigo construction. The warp yarns are dyed using a special combination of sulfur black and indigo, giving the fabric an almost black appearance when new. With wear, the black gradually fades away to reveal the indigo underneath, allowing the denim to age toward a rich blue tone.
Depending on the areas of wear and fading, the denim can show three distinct tones at the same time: the original black, the indigo layer beneath it, and the lighter core of the rope-dyed indigo yarn. Both the warp and weft use irregular No.6 yarn, while the weft is dyed with sulfur black. The selvedge features Samurai Jeans' signature silver-lame Katana Ear.
Design / Fit
Part of the "Aoki Toe" series, inspired by the image of a samurai blade cutting through the darkness, this model uses the 15oz Black-on-Blue denim in the S710 slim straight fit. Details were selected specifically to complement the fabric, including blue-painted buttons, family-crest patterned pocket lining, and navy stitching throughout.
The size range has also been expanded to include sizes 42, 44, and 46.
