TCB 10OZ Cat A Log Chore Coat

Cat a log Chore Coat

Cat a log Series

Starting with this release, TCB's Chore Coat becomes part of the new "Cat a log" series. The name combines two ideas: "catalog," reflecting the enjoyment of workwear through vintage archives as if browsing an old catalog, and "log," representing the record of fading, wear, and character created by each individual wearer over time.

The chest label has also been updated with new "Catalog" lettering. Front and cuff button specifications will gradually change as existing parts are used up.

Fabric

The denim and MASTER CLOTH label were inspired by vintage overalls. The warp uses naturally irregular #7 yarn, while the weft uses a finer #16 yarn at a slightly lower density. Using a finer weft allows the uneven character of the warp to stand out more clearly, giving this 10oz 2×1 denim strong vertical fading despite its relatively light weight.

The warp is dyed with 100% synthetic indigo without additional blended dyes. Fewer dyeing cycles are used than on typical 1920s-style XX denim, resulting in a brighter blue tone from the start.

Compared with the fabric used for TCB's Tabby's Jacket, this denim has a slightly softer hand while retaining a similar blue tone. The 2×1 twill is clearly visible, and the natural irregularity of the warp yarn can be seen across the surface. Compared with the Black Cat Jacket and Tabby's Jacket, this fabric is expected to develop a rougher, more vintage-like fade over time.

Design / Construction

The silhouette is based on vintage chore coats from the 1940s and 1950s, while details were adjusted using period references to create a stronger 1920s character that matches the MASTER CLOTH label and heart-shaped buttons.

Key details include a square collar with a center seam, detachable change buttons mounted through eyelets, adjustable top and cuff buttons, set-in sleeves, and a low sleeve cap similar to the construction used on TCB's TWO CATS BLOUSE.
