“WILD DUCK JEANS” is a forward-looking, sustainable denim born from an uncompromising pursuit of authentic vintage character. In the process of refining texture and appearance, the answer BIG JOHN arrived at was recycled cotton.
By blending 40% recycled cotton—made from reclaimed cotton fibers and fallen cotton that would normally be discarded—the denim develops a distinctive vintage presence. Natural nep and subtle irregularity emerge across the fabric, adding warmth, depth, and a sense of craftsmanship that grows more personal with wear.
The use of reclaimed materials creates unique unevenness and surface texture, resulting in a rich, expressive finish that reflects both tradition and thoughtful material development.

The undyed ecru fabric preserves the original character of raw cotton. Small cotton flecks and traces of natural fibers may remain in the fabric, serving as proof of an unprocessed, sustainable material created in harmony with nature.
With continued wear, the fabric gains depth, and the subtle discoloration and marks unique to ecru denim become part of its charm. Designed to be “grown” over time, this piece naturally integrates into the wearer’s lifestyle.
