Introducing the pinnacle of Japanese denim craftsmanship—“XXXX-EXTRA.” This button-up vest is crafted using 15.8oz natural indigo-dyed selvedge denim, rope-dyed 16 times with 100% Natural indigo. Though heavy, the fabric maintains a surprisingly soft and wearable touch.
Inspired by timeless workwear, the vest features a classic 2-pocket design, iron donut buttons engraved with “BIG JOHN 1940,” copper rivets, and an original vegetable-tanned leather patch.
Woven on vintage shuttle looms at low tension, the denim offers a distinctive texture and beautiful aging potential. The cotton is a unique global blend of five organic varieties—from Turkey, Peru, Texas, India, and Tanzania—with an added 5% of recycled organic cotton for sustainability.
