This coverall is made from 13oz indigo sashiko fabric and finished with Bengala dye. The distinctive uneven coloration characteristic of natural dyes gives the fabric a unique appearance. The sashiko fabric is woven in a double-layer construction, and as the original white base is dyed red, it creates a rich, dimensional appearance. Bengala dyeing is also known as "soil dyeing," and because it uses natural materials, the dye can eventually return to the soil, making it gentle on both people and the environment. Enjoy the gentle, warm red of the earth, nurtured by nature. Nut buttons are used.

BENGALA-DYED

ベンガラ染め

"Bengala" is one of the most familiar colors of the earth to humankind. This color, born from the soil and used since ancient times, has continued to fascinate people with its rich character and unique beauty. In Japan, it has long been a part of everyday life, used not only to decorate ceramics and lacquerware, but also for painting houses and dyeing fabrics, taking advantage of its insect-repellent and preservative properties. One of the greatest characteristics of Bengala dyeing is its exceptional durability and resistance to discoloration. Compared to plant-based dyes, it offers excellent color retention and continues to maintain its beauty over time. Bengala dyeing is also known as "soil dyeing," a natural dyeing technique using materials derived from the earth. It is environmentally friendly and made from materials that can ultimately return to the soil. Enjoy the gentle, warm "red" nurtured by the earth, along with its deep beauty and the timeless appeal of a tradition passed down through generations.
