This denim jacket is made from 12.0oz denim woven with rope-dyed indigo yarn for both the warp and weft. While conventional denim is generally made with indigo-dyed warp yarns and white weft yarns, using indigo yarn for the weft as well allows the color to fade from both directions as the jacket is worn. This creates a depth of color and three-dimensional aging that cannot be experienced with conventional denim.

DOUBLE INDIGO DENIM

ダブルインディゴデニム

This 12.0oz denim is woven using rope-dyed indigo yarn for both the warp and weft. In conventional denim, the warp yarns are typically dyed with indigo while white yarns are used for the weft. For this denim, indigo yarn is intentionally used for the weft as well. By giving both the warp and weft an indigo color, the fabric has a deep, rich appearance when new, while subtle changes in color gradually emerge with wear. The indigo yarns are rope-dyed, leaving a white core inside the yarn, which creates distinctive variations in color as the denim ages through wear. Using indigo yarn for the weft as well as the warp also creates a unique character in the way the color fades. As the denim is worn, the color changes of the indigo in the warp and weft overlap, allowing you to enjoy a depth of color and three-dimensional aging unlike that of conventional denim.
