BILLIKEN
The God of things as they ought to be.

"Billiken-san" is the symbolic god of Osaka. Many people with various wishes, such as prosperity in business, success in school, and fulfillment of love, visit the shrine to stroke the soles of their feet. "Billiken-san" has taken root as a god of good fortune that is familiar to the lives of Osaka citizens. Originally from the United States, "Billiken-san" was created by a female artist, Florence Pritts, and brought to Japan around 1908. On the base of "Billiken-san" is written "the god of things as they ought to be". This project is a collaboration between "D'Artisan," a brand that originated in Osaka, and "Billiken-san," the symbolic god of Osaka.
